Family and Friends Events














Speed Skating Canada Family & Friends Program

Speed Skating Canada's Family and Friends Program is a part of SSC’s Inuksuk Initiatives.  The intent of the program is to ensure that the needs of family and friends are taken care of, so that athletes, coaches and support staff can focus on the competition at hand.
Services provided as part of the program include:

  • Access to accommodations (more information)
  • Opportunity to purchase specially reserved event tickets (more information)
  • Access to Speed Skating Canada House
  • Coordination of programs with Petro-Canada and Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) – please note family and friends must apply independently for the COC Family & Friends Program (more information)
  • Opportunity to attend special functions at SSC House

Eligibility

  • Families and friends of speed skaters named to the 2010 Olympic Team as designated by the athlete (max 6 per athlete)
  • Families and friends of speed skating coaches and support staff named to the 2010 Olympic Team as designated by the staff member (max 4 per individual)
  • Friends of SSC including sponsors and special guest of Speed Skating Canada (evaluated on a per application basis)

  • Opportunity to purchase event tickets, maximum 6 tickets/qualified event (more information)
  • Opportunity to purchase hotel accommodations, maximum 1 room/qualified athlete  (more information)
  • Accreditation to access Speed Skating Canada House
  • Complimentary tickets to Speed Skating Canada & Speed Skating Canada Sponsor Receptions
  • Special offers from local businesses
  • Family & friends handbook
